Washington!

Left Vancouver at about 10:30, after Grendel gave me a great breakfast (mushroom garlic onion omlette) and a shield for the Penguin Crusader. Checked the map, packed the bike, and then discovered a little sword (metal scrap) and spear for him in the rustbin out the garage door. Grendel and Kat went off to pick up Krysta; I headed N on 405.

Cold. Clouds moving over, in squall lines. Gusting winds on the freeway. Grabbed coffee twice, then gave up and put on the rain gear. As I was pulling out of the rest station, the rain hit. Gear worked fine. Vest not too hot. Pants survivable. I look like a Michelin man, but am warm. Rolled north.

Rain. Wind. Clear. Rain. 20 miles south of Seattle/Tacoma, traffic hits. Follow the directions to 6th ave SW, when the street is 6 ave W. Only ..40? miles different. Hail and rain (light) in the parking lot.

Seattle is green, green green...and I parked the bike and found Vic's (where I'm about to crash) just as the thunderstorm started. Got inside. Wind ripped branches from trees, killed power...

and I was inside drinking cocoa! Vita bonam est. Good dinner, (why was Jesus loved by the ladies?) and coffee with Fiach later, he was looking great.

Yes, you disbelievers, I am having fun, but it's more relaxation. ANd now, making Z/s!

G'night.

What happened to Spring?

It goes by different characteristics. It seems that the storm has blown on, after kicking the leaves off many of the trees, knocking power out over a wide part of metro Seattle, and damaging several buildings. Bike was sheltered, but still has twigs caught in it. So the timing of getting here yesterday was very good.

Time to make time. It's roughly 20 road hours to Kitimat; that's 2 1/2 days if I'm sane, and I don't care to be insane at this time. Won't work to caravan with the other people heading up (one of them worked apparently on one of the buildings that collapsed, so that schedule is AFU.

Repacking bags and contemplating road options.

I won't be online for a couple days...be good!
