To reign, to have written, to have taught.

I've now taught; a day of Special Education at a local high school. Interesting exercise in class discipline, especially when there is one man who really can't stop talking. He eventually was sent to the principals, and a second one had to be made to sit down by looming over him.

The subjects--basic survival Math, English, and US History--were easy. And it felt good to do.

The aide in the classroom thanked me, and said she'd recommend me. And now, I'm teaching on Thursday.

There's not enough work, but the work there is, feels good.

Now, I have taught. High School. And I'll try to continue.

The economics of teaching in the schools, and the mindset, mean that while I can teach and earn money, there's not enough money to get beyond basic maintenance--and that only if I sign up with multiple districts, cover a wide geographical area, and make some great contacts. I may be good at teaching, but being even mediocre at technology pays so much better that I'll be back in it soon. There's not enough money here in comparison; substitute teaching so far will be 2 days in a month...and even if I went full time, no health or dental or other benefits.
