I guess sometimes we get so caught up in the business of living and connecting *now* that it's hard to grab the past, too. callistotoni once said something to me, in speaking of Viking sagas, along the lines of, "It is only after the story is complete that we can see it all and understand it." Perhaps it's some of that same phenomenon.
