Laramie

Beautiful day in Laramie, WY; college town with some amusements. Cowboy is the theme, and the coffeehouse is really good--free internet access! Fabulous Latte's! http://www.thegroundscoffee.com/

Notes for the last three days:
Fighter practice in MN, thanks R!
Weather shutdown in Kearney--"Severe Thunderstorms" means trucks are blown of the road (saw 3). As we pulled into town, the tornado sirens went off, and the 8 year old drama queen headed straight for hysterics. The sky was black, and the water would pour down, then stop; the clouds would flash.
Nebraska: Still boring on 80. But we split off onto the Mormon Wagon Trail, which had some scenery, and saw Chimney Rock.
US 30/Interstate 80 was the first major highway, the Lincoln Highway...interesting bit of history. Funded by subscription before the government picked it up.

Lessons from this trip:
Forget the laptop; it's more fun to use internet cafe's.
Packing good, but drop down to two total pairs of pants, make the gym shorts a swimsuit, and bring some clothes maintenance stuff.
Pack the Advil in the outer bag.
The universe is still laughing. My ex-fiance who was in Colorado is now back in Sunnyvale.

Hm. There is a place called Gulpwater, WY that is seeling lots for $100. You have to build a house in a year and live there for two, but then it's all yours. Maybe it's worth checking out since you happen to be in the State. (:
