Certainly never worked that way for my mother (a fiscally responsible woman, if ever I met one). She has now retired, but is still subbing in order to make sure that her ends will continue to meet properly as life goes on. Of course, she was the primary/only income after my dad's stroke, and she *was* raising a family.
