Went out to the town square, found that the dynamic of the group is too ...combative? Proving? Several people strive to reach concensus by telling me how things are going to be. Hey, I have no problem sharing my food, but being told what to order because you want it, then watching you fail to get a waiter because they won't appear while the menu is open, then getting pissy because you can't have it your way? Please, spare me. I'll do much better solo, the embarrassment robs the food of some taste.

I'm sure the fact that we were all tired didn't have a thing to do with this.

Got lost on the trip back. Hey, if you know where we are and which direction to turn, go for it. If I'm navigating and ask for a stop to find us on the map, don't whine. The fact that I was right won't be discussed, now will it?

Not like you can be truely lost; the city is not that large.

Washed clothes, discussed today, slept.

Brussels...has some history, but is much more a working city. We're going to loop south for 10km and visit Waterloo (the anniversary of the big battle was yesterday), then head east to Duren and hook up with the event, hopefully find our hotel as well. We're on the shoulder season; locals involved in school may be off, but not the big touristh shift. Should be able to get a hotel no matter what. Site info notes that there is a crash tent, so that's a good backup.

Woke up with sore feet, but less sore mouth. One day and I'm relaxing, a good thing.

Off email for a week. As they say, Huzzah!
