Lessons from the Crapaud
Jun. 27th, 2003 02:59 pmNo, it has nothing to do with bad things. Well, it does...It's a nickname for Bertrand du Gescaulin, and the fact that there were many toads at the place the tournament is held. The current place is at a park in Davis, which makes it a bit of a drive. But it's an adventure.
Without a doubt, this is the hardest tournament I enter, and a true test of my preparation, training and skill. Last night? Out in two rounds to unbelts...well, that's not good, right? Except...one unbelt clearly had the muse behind him, has been fighting four times a week, and it was close. The other? Next Prince of Cynagua. They both went very far in the lists.
Need to: Make a new shield/ work on power transmission through my torso/ get my endurance and energy level back up/ trust my reflexes more.
Drove up with Geoffrey Scott in his convertible Mustang. Woo! 102 in San Jose, 103 in Davis, sweat! Need to research some spanish knights for them.
