Actually, I'm feeling better....
<lj-cut>
No bonus for you, watery tart, if you don't know the reference.  Time to see that one again!    Right, Tim?

Sleep study last night, which mainly consisted of a small oriental nurse (chinese/philipino, I believe) smearing me with electrolyte past and then taping sensors to my head, chest, and legs, then telling me to sleep on my back (which I hardly ever do.)   Wish I'd gotten a picture, but it's a common enough procedure.  Lie on your back, and follow the instruction so they can check the electrodes--move eyes up and down, side to side.  Oh, and there's bands around the stomach and chest, to monitor your breathing and a tube in your nose.

I should have trimmed my nose hair ahead of time.   That would have reduced the tickle factor.

Due to the Lenten caffiene fast (gave up caffeine for Lent) I fell asleep easily, and dozed in and out of uneasy dreams of being tied to a tree a la Odin.  One of the sensors is very close to the left eye, and I had some trouble opening and closing that eye.    Then, after waking up a couple times, they put me on the CPAP, which was more restful than I had anticipated.

Still, must get back into working out.  Had an enlightening discussion with Vytas about core strength and fighting.  Makes me want to DOWNWARD DOG! more.

And a thoughtful discussion about the desire for perfection, and how it can get in the way of a beginner.  Hmmm.

off to generate cirricula;

1. In the recent testing, the other teacher had a 70% pass rate.  I had a 70% fail rate.
2. Students are still doing other teacher's homework during my lectures and fighting me about it.   Solution: LECTURE LESS.  More work, too.  But that means a lot more prep.
3. With 3 different classes to prep every day, one prep period is NOT ENOUGH.   Remember: don't take a class unless you have the curriculum handy.
4. It's so depressing (#1) that I went and asked that teacher "How?"  as in "How can I improve?"  Her answer?  Go get 7 years of experience.  She's being hired back next year to teach half days, yay for the students.
5. They offered me the physics position for next year.  I refused; the district has lied to me too many times...and I don't think I'm right for HS anyway.
6. There are still way too many shitheads in my classes--I think that's a fact of High School, but this is getting bad. Every class has at least one idiot looking to prove he's better than the man, every day.  Often, two, who try to feed off of each other.

Anybody got a copy of Flash Girl's  "Play Each Morning, Wild Queen"?

Or the soundtrack to "Harold and Maude"?  Wait, that you can compile yourself.  http://zensite.home.att.net/haroldandmaude/
Ok, can anyone led me some of these albums?

Please?
