Say a prayer.
Nov. 6th, 2008 12:37 pmThere's a state of the world that I once called "Boffism" and now I'm not sure what the term would be. Certainly not irony, although some singers would claim that. More like "the world keeps turning and happening to you all mixed together."
One thing I judge positive about Barack Obama, president-elect. The quote, from a news service:
"Obama planned to stay home through the weekend, with a blackout on news announcements so that he and his staff can get some rest after a grueling campaign and the rush of their win Tuesday night. He is planning a trip to Hawaii in December to get away with his family before their move to the White House — and to honor his grandmother, who died Sunday at her home there."
I didn't see or hear about this at all before the election itself, that Madelyn Dunham had died. She missed seeing her son elected by three days, although I'm sure she knows, just not here and now. There's a good article on her at San Francisco Chronicle:

Good on you, Madelyn. Bomber maker, war wife, strong grandmother, bank VP come up from the ranks, you raised your children in the finest American traditions and exhibited them yourself.
Thank you.
