The Pacific NW is green and peaceful, even in Springtucky OR.   I got some minor things accomplished (light switch, new light, braces on raised  beds), got hooked on Rome, spent some lovely time.   Cousin Joyce is a joy, and the roadtrip pleasant.    The poison oak is gone, all that's left is lots of scaly skin.

It'll be nice to get home.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou for my lightswitch! And making me buy tools. I've since sanded and stained the upstairs railing. And discovered that the stain needs a coat of verathane over it, instead of being the one step coat/cover. Ah well - for $1 what do ya get?

Making lovely split pea soup, vegan style. Transcribed a southern russian song for her group from CD to staff paper for mumsy. It's very bulgarian in style, and they wanted her to learn it by ear. Kinda tricky for her, struggling with the pronunciation as well as figuring out notes. At least she has notes now.
