I'm incredibly lucky

I can't believe how good life is when I stop and look. (Which of course causes the frustrations to be more obvious, of course.)

1. I'm teaching in my own way the smartest groups of people I can find something that I love (engineering.)

2. The garden is growing tomatoes. Lots of tomatoes. And sunflowers, and onions (just harvested) and herbs and pumpkins and corn and soon, beans. The 3 sisters garden is spotty, but tres cool.

3. Got to teach waltz for 2 hours Saturday, then dance for 3 more. And this is normal in my life.

4. Living in California.

5. Friends who care.

Now, back to figuring out how to teach programming to 10 year olds...

What do you think of Alice? We're thinking of starting our kids out on it for the programming.

I know nothing about Alice...

We're starting in easyC for the VeX robot. JRS (yours) is more up on the subject than I am, I'm sure!

Have you looked at Scratch?

And you're grand, John.

... and I just found out that someone has adapted Scratch to work with the Second Life scripting language! Gonna download the non-SL version tonight for the kids.
