A long time ago,

I wanted to ride a motorcycle. She gave me one for yardwork.
A long time ago, I wanted to be in a vanity band. She was one of the two competent musicians in it. "Pain for our sins" We've suffered for our art, now it's your turn.
A long time ago, I rode to Canada in one day with her and Jim and the chase wagon.
A long time ago, we went out together on bikes to Missouri, where I came back along a different route. It happens.
Here's a toast to a long time ago; I will not see those days again, nor with you here, my friend in the Summerlands, but I will bring up the memory and the inspiration as I can.
I can't see a Dykes on Bikes picture without thinking of her and her wife; I still can't easily listen to her family music, because the band was her family in many ways. I don't think I'll ever stop crying remembering the Habanare Kung Pao. That was some smoke.
Still lucky in that I did get to know her, be inspired by her, and some days inspire her.
Happy Birthday, Leigh Ann. See you again sometime.
As for the rest of you, ask me some time, and I'll share the stories.
