I am bad at estimating limits.

Because I have always been taught to push them, so that I can improve. That which does not kill us...may indeed lengthen our recovery times, and incur extra pain.

Not a major point, but I'm really only good for one social thing a day (though I crave more!) and about 1/2 hour of standing work before I need to put the leg up. This is frustrating to me, as the numbers are usually closer to 3 and 8.

Still, have achieved some cleaning/sorting momentum. And healing apace. And more ideas for fun to do. Playdates! Pas! Dances when healed! The Church of the Fork!

I apologize to everyone I've had to blow off, but healing isn't just #1, it's #1, #3, #17.5, etc. Probably a lot of irrational numbers, but I'm trying to be rational and heal faster.

Boy, I'm posting about healing a lot.

That's OK. We all post about the important parts of our lives. Healing is your big job of the moment, and it should be an important part of your life. I don't mind hearing about how it's coming along, and I certainly won't hesitate to prompt you often to value the care of your body very highly!

It's taken me far, far longer for my knee to heal than I had anticipated. It's very frustrating and annoying. You have my sympathies and my empathy. (So return them both soon.)

I challenge you to test the limits the other direction. How fast/efficient can you be at doing standing-up stuff so that you can get back to sitting? I sit on the toilet while brushing my hair or teeth. Some call it lazy. I call it conserving energy.

I want to hear the healing posts. I particularly want to hear the ones wherin you report that you spent an appropriate number of hours in your day with your leg elevated, and that you didn't feel (much) pain today. Healing is a full time job, please give it your top priority!
