But, as this is a repost from a book, I have no copyright over it. And as the original was written in the 1300's in Shiraz, as a ghazal, or love poem, so was in Farsi (or its medieval equivalent) and quite probably sung. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghazal
