5 things don't make a post

and why not?

Shrug, I dunno.

I've been struggling with the thingsIneedtodo and the thingsIshoulddo and they've swamped the thingsIwanttodo to the point that I've lost them. So, in no particular order or disorder:

1. It's hot. The tomatoes are all going to ripen at once. The moon is fullish. I think it's time to dance in the moonlight, and sundry tomatoes. Not at the same time. Or perhaps, yes?
Certainly, it's a good heat to lie around in pools, if the crazy lady at my Mom's pool would stop yelling at me that she's not a prostitute when I go out to laze.

2. I want to play the game of work, to learn a new system, to teach it to people. Then I could be paid and get health insurance and that stuff.

3. Teaching. Yeah, that's kinda fun.

4. SCA. Fighting...it is too much of the problem, not enough of the solution, because the hardcore must win Crown types are infesting practice. But it's time for another Moose and Squirrel war, right?

5. Dress up. What to do first: Mad hatter tea, Steampunk tour of SF (mainly the museum mechanic, but also boating and biking at Stow lake, perhaps the DeYoung, how about Winchester?), vignettes from the Green Night tales, Zombie Stumble in San Jose?

Dunno. The libraries got AC, books, and computers. Now if it only had earl grey...

Moose and Squirrel! Or a good Pitchfork War. Or really any small/local war would be great right now....

Do you have to fight the hardcore if you come to practice?

I was less than coherent when we talked about gym time at First Sword. Do you have any interest in a monday, wednesday or friday at 7pm?

The tomatoes keep breaking their branches....

Very Baked Tomatoes

[Recipe originally from Margaret Fox's _Cafe Beaujolais Cookbook_]

Very ripe beefsteak type tomatoes. (Brandywines and Russian Blacks work too).

Slice the tomatoes in half horizontally. Put them in a roasting pan.

Top them with:
finely-chopped fresh garlic (I use about one medium clove per tomato)
sea salt to taste
fresh oregano
pepper to taste
olive oil (I use about 1 tablespoon per tomato)

Bake at 325 degrees for a long time (the original recipe says 2 hours, we go more like three) until the tomatoes collapse. Pull out the tomato halves and eat them, while dipping bread in the liquid remaining in the roasting pan.

These also keep very well in the fridge and reheat nicely in the microwave.

I knew a crazy lady like that in AZ, only she looked to be about 80. After days of this nonsense, I looked up at her and said, "Methinks she doth protest too much," at which point she went off about how "Shakespeare visited MALE prostitutes and I sure as Hell ain't never been no man!"

*sigh*
