Today the motorcycle hit 30,004 miles.

It hit it at the 237/880 interchange on the way back from a daytrip to Yosemite, where I met Tug and Revar for dinner. After wandering through the valley, buying gouda at Oakdale Cheese, stopping to smell the flowers (didn't smell much), getting a plant identification card, seeing the gorgeous and engorged Bridal Veil and Yosemite falls, hiking 3 miles, napping.

Hopefully they'll get the falls pictures. I followed Orion home, and as he passes below the horizon, so shall I for the land of sleep.

Helmet+Hives+central valley fog very bad, though.

Nice! How long'd it take for you to reach 30k? And what are some of the most interesting places you've seen during those 30k miles?

Glad to hear you guys had a lovely time at Yosemite. How's your tent bits collecting going? See you soon for more dancing! ;)

Now, after talking to many, I'm planning to get the canvas together and fit the frame to it, rather than the other way. Hunting canvas now.

Cool. Let me know when you find it, and if they give discounts for big chunks bought all at once, maybe I can purchase some then too?

P.S. Networking is eating my evenings these next two week, alas, so I won't be able to make the dance practices. Look for me in April, if you want! ;)

Interesting - Dad was wondering if you'd hit the "fog of doom" (my term, not his). I'll have to let him know you did :-)

I'm glad you took your bike up there -- nice ride! I'd have liked to come but would have missed Teddy's first ever practice Little League game. That may have been one of the funniest things I've ever seen!

Didn't hit the fog of doom;

There was no tule fog (dense banks along the delta waterways) just a haze. At 80mph, it tends to penetrate the gear. Next time!
