'Cause I want them out of my head.

1. The Myth of Middle Management 2. Atoxins 3. Fall off the branch

1. The Myth of Middle Management: Not what you think. As that evil thinker posited, there are legendary managers at the upper level, and legendary workers, in American tradition, but no legendary middle managers. There's Jobs and Jack Welch and Hewlitt and Packard and Grove; there's the internet millionaires...but there's noone leading the team in the American tradition. There are "Inventors" (Edison, Tesla, Crick) and magnates (Stanford, etc.) but we don't hear stories of the men who build the team.

I think it's because the myth in america is of the loner, and of being able to be the best; why should we study anyone less than the top?

This effects engineering to make the US land of the design engineer; rather than focusing on a process or the final product, we focus on the heros--the Design Engineer, the Market Manager, the Stellar Salesman.

2. Atoxins. Well, I don't know what I'm alleric to, but it's continuing and not truely abating. Thanks SRC; checking for molds now. The attic isn't inudated, so time to do a complete room clean.

3. Fall off the branch. My trouble isn't fear of falling or flying, it's deciding which way to fall. The quote comes from my brother, who advised me to just pick a direction and go. Ah, well, only one?

Excelsior!

I had blister-testing done a few years ago and found a bunch of foods that, while I wasn't instant-anaphylaxis-girl or anything, I was sufficiently allergic to that eating them during tree season(s) would make me sick. It took two sessions to do the likely foods, trees & grasses, molds, etc. but it was definitely worthwhile (if slightly depressing - garlic was one of the allergens!)

Another thing that's possible (and which an allergist can check for) is something like candida. A little more common in girls but anyone can get it, and it kicks your immune system down enough that anything you're even slightly allergic to causes a reaction.

And keep in mind that many allergies change as you age.
