San Francisco Garden Show!

Not as good as before, esp. the demo gardens--the industry hasn't recovered. 3 cool things:


1. Snail Jails. www.snailjail.com Cool, and obvious.
2. The sculptor with the amazing art. Need to find his card...
3. The 3 pot hangers (no info)

Very few plants, and no real "oooh" gardens.

Snail Jail ! I need one, actually I need six. My nextdoor neuighboor is an OCD stuff collecter and every inch of her yard is full of junk makes for happy snail breeding grounds. Last year the little buggers ate half of my herb garden.

I just put out my Snail Jails today and baited them with some old beer. I'll let you know if they worked tomorrow... Nice that they come in packs of 3!

-ponders snail jails- hmmm... wonder if they are Salamander Friendly? there are at least 3 different salamander types on my property, tiny rust colored ones, long slinky black ones, and fat grey with yellow stripes, and I haven't put bait out since I discovered them... now imagining them gorging on beer soaked slugs

Don't use poison in the jail, use dog food; the snails will come in and you can throw them away, but it won't poison anything.

Was sorry I missed this this year - I have gone every year for the past several, but it just didn't work out this year. Looks like I didn't miss much. :)
