Wow, now I've done Kalamazoo. 8 of us took over two back tables at Bilbo's, after Dave O. chatted up the party girls waiting outside, and we proceeded to order 3 pitchers of beer and 4 of water (Sledgehammer, Dragon Red, and Barq's) and 3 pizza's and demolish them. We applauded every time the waitress Cindy came by, got great service, left a 55% tip, and went and applauded the kitchen staff. We were also the loudest laughingest table there.

It was great. The weather is perfect, the sessions have been very interesting, and I never want to be a history professor because their lives seem to suck. On the other hand, I have a much better idea of a number of things, scored some wonderful books, (The Road to St. James: A tourist guide to the Pilgramige to Compastela...$18! and "Impromptu Verse from Medieval Sources" ($6!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and run into a great group (AVISTA www.avista.org) and seen the room of cool artifacts (the hidden church of the SCA--period bookmarks, period paternosters, sprang, some weaving (including some of Halima's) etc).

But I never want to be a history professor. Ick. So what do I do with my life? If my passion is learning and teaching, I better find a good outlet.
