learnteachDay 4, still Not King. But having a good and motivating time, even in the Grip of the Green Goo Grippe.
Ok, the cold isn't that bad. The sessions are all of interesting, intimidating, and boring; the subject matter is interesting (and some of the speakers--Richard Barbour speaking on The Order of the Garter; a session on Dwarfs and Giants in Mallory; the period descriptions of troop movements); intimidating in that the assumed backround education level is MS (basically) so if you don't know the source material, don't whine; and boring in that most of these people read straight from their papers, some without looking up--no interaction, no visual aid.
I'm sure I don't want to be a college professor. But I'm rooming with Dave O, a high school teacher, and he's a cool guy. Mimic that I am I want to be more like him. Hmm. MA in education required to play, basically, but hey, that's not that hard...

...and whether my friends need to be introduced to a cross country cold...
