Routine and Fear

Hey! On vacation this week, but...last time I took more than one vacation day, my work routine was strongly disrupted and I came close to being fired. but...reading the emotional/social/psych temperature at work, along with the economic climate, the level of bullshit from the sales managers, and the general disgruntlement of the SE manager, I'd say they'll cut me from the team given the least chance...the closest I ever come to encouragement is when I ask one of the salesmen how an account is going.
So, the SE call was cancelled today; Zippy automatically calls managment and lets the customer know that if I'm not getting things done quickly enough he'll escalate; Chuckles is so far behind quota he's not going to last long...
and I've been asked for a detailed list of my accomplishments.
It's nerverattling. The change, the waiting, the lack of signals in any positive sense (no one is ever told anything), the past experience...
Fear is the unexpected disruption of routine. The sound late at night when you don't expect it, the big guy coming up to you where he shouldn't be, the shot that you hear in a "peaceful" area.
