I'm not ignoring you. I'm just the opposite of Hibernation. What is that?

Sunspiral wedding good. Wedding the next weekend (see Tugrik's posts) good as well. Different roles and worries completely. In between, took a friend to Harbin and hung out, yea! It's been way too long, now I want to go back for a daytrip. (Camp over one night in the van, perhaps.) After the second wedding, went to the back half of June Crown, missing many exciting things but catching way too many meetings (4). Oy. Then this week helped clean house, with painting and sanding and sink fixing and tree trimming and lightbulb replacing and lots of work, with the wedding planning going well.

Now, fix armor, go to An Tir West.
Then, take advantage of cheap flights to Hawaii.
Then, off to Prague.

So much for July!

As V. Sunspiral sez,

ZOOOOOOM!

of trapping you in the tower of love and pelting you with bad poetry while your husband held the ladder this weekend. You are envied! And I've decided I need more hoods, so your site will get a workout.

Nah...estivation is a hibernation analog.
The *opposite* of hibernation would have to be something like, well, "Zooooom!"

Actually estivation is indeed the opposite of hibernation, in that it occurs during the hot summer months, while hibernation occurs during the cold winter months.

Yes, I'm a former biology/zoology geek, sorry. ;)

Depends upon your semantic perception of "opposite."

Estivate::summer as Hibernate::winter--both torpor, although at different times of year: Therefore they are analogs, not opposites, to *my* way of thinking.

To *me* opposite==diametrically opposed. He appears to be speaking of the opposite of torpor, not the opposite of timing, hence my dispute of estivate as the appropriate term for it.

(Me::words/semantics as you::biology/zoology. Also sorry ;-)

Summer is not the opposite of winter

the wheel of the year turns and the light changes, but it is still the wheel. Food torpor is not hibernation either, and Mdm T is right: I'm looking for...
