1. The tree roots that I thought were 3 (5 sir!) are all one big root at the bottom. The chainsaw chain jumped misfed while I was trying to cut it. Wow. Too deep for a stumpgrinder, and it eats chainsaws? Perhaps the tree wants to be a sculpture, and stay where it is.

2. Signed up for NaNoWriMo. Wooo! Time to start doing finger exercises!

5. (3, sir.) Oh, OK, 3. Have now seen Serenity twice. Want to go again. I agree with Ariyana: It's love that keeps the boat in the air, and Love that made the movie happen. I'm selfish, I want another movie, go see this one. Or buy the series.

4. A very knowledgable lady confirmed that Goram is actually swearing in Mandarin. Woo!

5. Parties will start happening; due to the influence of the temp roomie, the house is almost clean. Thinking Scrabble/Boggle night first, followed by a Sing Thing.

6. Have been asked to sing the part of Pluto for a 15th century opera segment to be performed at 12th Night. OMG! Whee! Time to start vocal exercises.

7. After shopping at the Farmer's Markets, Safeway is causing severe sticker shock on veggie prices. I'm eating huge amounts of veggies, as I get them bruised at the local joint, and cook them up. Batch 3 of Ratatoille Paisano is in the fridge, with batch 2 of mild salsa and there's French Onion soup on the way.

8. No luck on school. Need to sign up with more districts.

Who's the new roomie? Yay for parties!
Try Sunnymount on El Camino for veggies. I swear by them when I can't get out to the Farmer's Market.

And using "goram" while discussing the size of the root is especially funny :-D

The very knowledgable lady said it meant something to the effect of "manhood"...

So, I'd sign up for NaNoWriMo if I didn't already have to write a ton of stuff and read even more. Maybe once I'm done with grad school.

Oh yeah. I was talking with a sub the other day and she said it was best to sign up with a bunch of districts. I know in my district, I've seen a couple subs this year already and these are mainstream classes, not special ed. Somehow, this year I'm hanging with the mainstreamed kids.

I believe said knowledgeable lady said "goram" was Japanese. The three Chinese speakers I saw the movie with recognized only one sentence that was supposed to be in Chinese. Zoe told the other three to sit down right before she did the maneuver to get them into Serenity.

Japanese and swearing

Checked with Gryph, as I'd only had a year of Japanese. But. Japanese ends with vowels or the letter N only.

Sorry. No Gorram.

Hai. Nihon go benkyo o shimasu. Mmm, mushi mushi. Kaga desu ka, baby! 5 dollar, love you long time.
