Impromptu Poetry.

learnteachSuffer. (For my 33rd Birthday, I put together a vanity band, "Pay'in for Your Sins", motto: We've suffered for our art, your turn. We never performed, it was a lot of effort, it was a lot of fun, it was one hell of a learning experience.)
I'd love to be a lovely ship
That sailed upon the sea;
with fresh white sails and men's coat tails
and doing so breezily.
I think that I am that lovely ship,
and spread my sails to see,
but examine life and it's many tales--
it's not done so easily.
Down deep below the oaken decks,
Where no-one can go see,
are the goals and fails and ails
That truely are driving me.
The black gang in grease and charcoal sit
to a sandwitch and some tea
the steam produced by old strange things
is what sets the ship free.
Sometimes it seems that I have masks,
right now I am sailing free-
no matter what the metaphor,
From keel to sail--it's me.
