Caffiene withdrawal over. Hopefully, I'll last a while before it becomes a three drink a day habit again.
Adventure beckons, as well as Victory.
Not Victory from Nike, but victory from Christopher Moore. I entered the Books Inc. contest to write a short essay describing my "Dirtiest Job" ever, with a chance to win a signed copy of his latest book, "A Dirty Job". It's a very good book, and I've already purchased it, read it twice, laughed, cried, enjoyed the love of San Francisco in it, and passed it on as a Birthday Present to two San Franciscans (well, three, but I hope they don't give it to Celestiel for a while.)
The contest presentation is at the signing on Friday, and I'll get a copy of the book and possibly a gift certificate. Book's Inc. Mountain View store, 7:30 PM, and I'll buy the desserts afterwards if you come cheer me on.

Easter Dinner was good. Lamb, Brocolli, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, petit pous, salad, a nice pinot noir. And waaaaaaay too much chocolate in the 9 year old. Easter Mass was very nice, with the choir augmented by a trumpet section which was quite good. HORDE of children, who had just done the egg hunt with chocolate filled plastic eggs (if you lose one it won't rot) so a church full of noise and joy. Organist playing variations on basic Easter music. All I needed was some Messiah to really cap the day.
And, I won in the "food for the breakfast" category: All of the strawberries I brought (sliced up, hulled) were eaten; none left! Not that it's a competition.

War Saturday was OK, we really don't have any command going on, what little I threw in made huge differences. I need to 1. Fix my leg harness 2. Repair all my weapons 3. Make a new banner 4. lose 20 pounds. Went to Y's party afterward, had fun conversations and flirting.
Off to do taxes!
This week: Firequake with A&D!
EDIT: Ok, it's victory day. Taxes done, (yay) and just got notification that I passed the Geo Science part of the CSET. Yay!

Date: 2006-04-17 08:43 pm (UTC)Good luck on the writing contest! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I won't be able to attend as I'll be herding 7 13 year-olds at a roller rink for R's b-day. Should be fun...kinda like Chinese water torture should be fun...LOL.
