Today we did detention. And Freshman advisory. It just gets better and better; looks like I'll be helping with detention for the rest of the week.

EDIT: I've been providing breaks for the other teachers. Three of them have complimented me on how well the students are doing with me as a sub. WTF? The instructional leader invited me to observe her classes so I could see her methods and specificially said that her students thought I was a very good teacher. WTF?

My perception =/= their perception. VERY STRANGE.

LearningTeaching. Learnteach. Still, I've got applications in at places where I could teach engineering. That's what I want to do. We'll see!

Just as long as detention isn't like the Breakfast Club....or maybe if it is like the Breakfast Club, everything will work out ok. What's Freshman Advisory?

Freshman Advisory

The teacher (or substitute) gets to work (or try to prison guard) a class of freshmen who are supposed to be reading quietly or doing their homework while the older students are in electives.

Sort of not really like detention, just the same faces trying to avoid work.
