Leigh Ann was a friend of mine. She got me into motorcycling, and with her I did the Iron Butt ride to Vancouver just before 30 year, with Jim Adams, and Greg and Billy in the chase truck. That trip she came back and helped me and fixed my flat on the trip back down from 30 year, near Corning.
The motorcycle, Elghaz (spelling varies) I traded her two full weeks of gardening for. The ride home was very scary.
Speaking of which, Greg was an old SCA friend I introduced to her as I was putting together my vanity band. Billy was a Vytas friend, introduced at Red Rock one night. They did all the work, but I was there at the beginning.
We motorcycled out to Kansas City, Missouri, stopping at Siobhan's (as she was moving into the new house), and various hotels. I left there because the Susan G. Komen trip we were on really wasn't for the support riders, and other reasons. Leigh Ann got me into raising money for Breast Cancer; I later did the Avon walk because of her (and Kaaren Begg.)
Now I am learning cooking; it's something she did all her life. I remember the pride she had of a ploughman's lunch she made for an SCA contest, where she made everything except the cutting board and the cup--she made the knife, the napkin, the cheese, the beer, the pickled egg, the meat, the bread. I researched and helped her with some topics.
Singing with her was fun.
