A thing of beauty....Gaskill's!

learnteachMade it to Gaskill's, late, but in time for the second two sets. Had a wonderful time seeing old friends, and realizing how they have changed, and dancing, and watching people, and observing the dress of men and women (97th? I think so...) and learning of British toasting customs, and ...and...and...standing around with a stupid smile on my face. Danced a schottisch with two women who said "We don't like this dance because we can't count" and replied "All mistakes are mine" and they actually relaxed to the point of giggling when I ran them into each other accidentally...dancing with Audrey, who I haven't seen in years...and seeing others who I have, and how they've changed!
Best men's dress: Well, it's penguin time, but the 97th looked good. Worst: Dashiki shirt.
Best women's dress: SO many possibilities! Sargent Girl to Danger Twin C in a velvet? black gown; Marabou Madness to R S who also had best use of tiny ambercolored beads (mesh over the top of the bosom/base of throat; Pregnoir worn by B. the pregnant (Yay!); Best Bustle none, LC wasn't there.
No themed costume groups but one giant Schottich conga. Wonderful Congress of Vienna, good polkas and excellent waltzes, need to work on Mazurka and stamina.
