Found him. He's been living under the dead stump, and eating off that area--lotsa food--and just on the other side of the fence. Doesn't like the nasturtium, though.
I thought that Greatsword's splitting wedges would do the job. It is to laugh in a hollow manner. Luckily, he doesn't need them back immediately.
