The kids are all right...

So, I've taught Eastside, I've taught Bayshore, I've taught Summer Engineering Academy;
I've been a sub, I've developed the classes, I've administered the tests.
The teenager of today? Pretty OK. The only place where it was a problem was Ravenswood, but they're so far behind the eight ball that they can't see any way out but down. From the 12 year old loudmouths to the spaced out 16 year olds, they're all coping in the ways that their parents have shown them.
Kids are allright. They're as smart, involved, stoned, geeky, nervous, and clued in as we ever were.
What's changed? The environment. It always does.
...so, the position at Microsoft is in the support group. I don't want to go back to the pressure cooker. Hmm. And no teaching gig for next year lined up; of course, all the good ones were gone months ago.
Need to figure out what next.
