Signed the papers, met the staff. Am leading 40 students on a retreat next week, in between four days of staff developement. Good staff, good support people, standard snafus. Good head of department. I'm feeling lucky, punk!
The issue of missing the first week is resolved in a strange way--they're docking 5% of my salary to miss that week. That's way too much for a week. If the home office is going to penalize me, and in written form, I'm not going to be guilty for taking the week. End of problem.
I'm excited, happy, overwhelmed...it'll be fun!
