is REALLY DIFFERENT when you're the teacher. Wow. All the classes, and the students on edge about their parents, and then, just as we get started, the rain...wow.
Oy, I hated back to school night when I taught high school. They lined us up in the gym, with two student desks facing each other, so the parents could queue up for mini conferences. Right. Mini conferences. Once they had me at their mercy, most parents didn't care that the line behind them would grow increasingly longer, and increasingly impatient. Sigh. No classroom visits at all.
I think what I hated the most was that I had to do that on top of the full day of teaching, grading, and planning. And THEN get up for school the next day. Boyo, I hope yours was a different format!!
