I'm going to go down to the meadery tomorrow afternoon, and raise a glass or two to him; if you want to come share stories with me, do. If not here, we'll have another time, perhaps Crown, but probably sooner, closer.
I think we should look at setting up a memorial college fund for his daughters. We can talk about that, too.

EDIT: For those who didn't know, Michael has been working as a Federal Marshal. On a training course last year, his aorta dissected. That is, it split open. He was rushed to the hospital where two open heart surgeries were performed. When they checked him in January, they found a 6 cm (2 inch) ...you know, he tells this all so much better than me, and the livejournal handle is

End story, he didn't make it. His family is supported by well, family and close friends, and his friends from the Marshals, who have asked that we not disturb them. When Karen passes an address on to me for cards, I will pass it on.
