For Michael Plotts, Sir Michael San Sever:
"Pen or Sword? Mighty with both."
I'm going to go down to the meadery tomorrow afternoon, and raise a glass or two to him; if you want to come share stories with me, do. If not here, we'll have another time, perhaps Crown, but probably sooner, closer.
I think we should look at setting up a memorial college fund for his daughters. We can talk about that, too.
For those who haven't heard, he died earlier today. Reqiescat in Pace.
For the rest, here's some memories, scattered and random:

A Picture: some good ones on the site.
stories, later.
EDIT: For those who didn't know, Michael has been working as a Federal Marshal. On a training course last year, his aorta dissected. That is, it split open. He was rushed to the hospital where two open heart surgeries were performed. When they checked him in January, they found a 6 cm (2 inch) ...you know, he tells this all so much better than me, and the livejournal handle is
likesargent
End story, he didn't make it. His family is supported by well, family and close friends, and his friends from the Marshals, who have asked that we not disturb them. When Karen passes an address on to me for cards, I will pass it on.

Date: 2009-02-19 03:38 pm (UTC)I raise a toast
to a man I did not know
worthy of kind words
John has said it's so
today I give a heartfelt prayer
for his support
in spirit, I'm there
When time closes the day
Let kind words
wash pains away
and when day breaks
on the 'morrow
Let comforting friendship
ease new sorrow
Let peace find all his friends
let family strength
bind what begins
words aren't enough
to ease what tears us
nor words to God
will ease what scares us
but for Sir John
this day will bring
memories flowing
of lasting things
let my hugs
bring gentle waves
of emotions comfort
for passing days
love to you...ellie
