Questions for you, oh my...
1. What are the top 3 areas that you would love to visit for a prolonged period of time?
Well, gosh, all of them. Depends on what prolonged is, and of course, I'm somewhat activity defined. But off the top of my head: 1. Motorcycle to Alaska to hunt/fish/see things. 2. Go to Boston area, see friends, dance a lot, study history of technology with various people. 3. The TR sanctuary with a tank crew of VS on Planetside. :)
2. Of all of the activities that you do in your life, what are the ones that bring you the most joy?
Movement, dance, martial arts; which I don't do enough. Learning new things or relearning old things, there's always more, and teaching these things. Reading, which is more of a constant. NOT arguing with the establishment, fixing every little broken thing, sitting in freeway traffic (which I do a little over an hour a day minimum.)
3. If you had to pick one author to give to an early teenager to use their imagination more, who would it be? Or if it was a series, not by the same author, what series?
Depends on the child. I liked Lloyd Alexander's "Chronicles of Prydain"--The Black Cauldron, Taran Assistant Pig-Keeper, etc. "ElfQuest" by Wendy and Richard Pini works very well for one person I know. And Terry Pratchett has some wonderful books. But there's also Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" graphic novels, Piers Anthony's books, and the inestimable Robert Heinlien juveniles. And for someone more outside oriented, perhaps Bev Dolittle; for someone truely different, the writings of Tacitus.
4. If you had enough time to create a front garden, what would you put there?
Sunflowers, butterfly plants, onions, marigolds...so far. Gourds and tomatoes.
5. Where would you like to be in 20 years?
A respected professor of History (of technology) with a family living in a rambling house somewhere, teaching dance and aikido.
