5 Useless Monday Facts

Love finding things out!

1. There's a bee dieoff/problem going on. http://abfnet.org/news/honey-bee-die-off-alarms-beekeepers-crop-growers-researchers/
It might be worth it to put some local bee habitats in your garden area just in case;
http://www.xerces.org/Pollinator_Insect_Conservation/Farm_Pollinator_Guidelines.PDF
has some ideas. (Thanks to Rick's Uncle (great uncle?) for this information.) (I think this will be a this week project.)

2. Flash MMORGS are suddenly huge; my two favorites: Vox Imperium http://www.voximperium.com/ and curiously enough, Urban Dead, where I've died and been turned back 4 times. http://www.urbandead.com/ Hmm. Another way to waste time on the network.

3. Lent doesn't exist on Sundays. The 40 days doesn't count the Sunday feast days. Ack! Well, there ya go. Thanks Father Matt! http://catholicism.about.com/?once=true&

4. Cheese is good. Mmmm. Tibetian yak cheese! (Very much like parmesan; hard milk cheese) Wenslydale! (British. Cheesy. Somewhat boring.) Cheesy Poufs! Mmmm.

5. San Jose Giants open on Thursday; so does Little Minsky's. Hmm.

Those of you in the South Bay area willing to host a hive in your yard can contact Wayne Pitts of the Santa Clara Bee Guild at kingbee (at) uvasgold (dot) com . Ask him to alert the guildmembers that a spot is available.
Thanks!

I suspect that my apartment management would shit the proverbial brick if I put a hive on my patio. Although, I don't think it technically violates my lease...

See the link I posted. You can help the native bee population without hosting a hive!

I find this bee link even more helpful, as it is specifically for urban/suburban folks. My front planting area is basically a bee garden, which is good, given it's near where I container garden.

Thanks!

Great link!

Hmm.

Is there a similar East Bay Bee Guild? I'd be willing to host a hive.

You'll have to let me know when you're starting a new Vox Imperium game. :)

Sure! What's your Vox name?

I'm Genrez for Vox...
