Washed in around me, and all the little sand trenches are full of water...

Blerg. I didn't consciously get here, but here I am; so it's time to be conscious. In summary:
WEIGHT: Highest it's ever been. EXERCISE: Non-existant. HEALTH: Ok, but I need to get onto the previous two items asap. I'm having some trouble sleeping, and sore much of the time from not working out. I twinged my back this weekend, and that's slowed me down too. HOUSE: Disaster area level 2 (of 5); it's livable but not nice. Taking some steps. Got some cleanup done today, and am seeing what things could be more cleanly. Got the motorcycle on a charger so I can ride it, and painted in some of the more nasty rust spots on the van. GARDEN: Varmit Cong got the rest of the back, I don't know why he eats only have the roots one day and comes back for the rest later, traps going in next week when he's hungry again. I've tried to co-exist, but all four pumpkin vines, the tomatoes, and the sunflowers all got chomped last week. Got another herb pot going, and the front garden has some lovely onions. WORK: Well, teaching; back to 6 hours/day as of Friday, and a contract around the corner, but I need to figure out what I want to do next. What I don't want to do: be trapped in that last situation. 6 more weeks of Engineering Academy (which can be riotous fun) and then course development. RELAXATION: Too much work involved in that. Need to split that away from other stress.

Enough whinging. Get up a bit early tomorrow, run/walk the neighborhood, eat some grapefruit, go play aikido.

What I want, and need to strive for: 100 pounds less, aikido, dancing more, house in a state where it works other than as unstructured stuff storage, employment and cash worked out.

TASK LIST:

1. Get schedule tool back together.
2. Get car working; sell van. Keep bike up.
3. Clean/Rearrange: Backyard, back room, dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom. All separate lists.
4. Exercise and track weight every day. Cook more veggies from the CSA!
5. Re-connect with friends ignored due to school fu.

Enough for now.

Do you have an aikido dojo you're fond of? We're looking for something for little A (who is now just over 4), who needs the self-discipline & energy.

You still haven't met little D. We'd love to see you sometime.

Don't worry little bear

We'll share our tomatos and punkins!

But not the corn. Keep your mitts off the corn.
Heh.

Just wanted to cruise by and say "HI! You're fabulous!".

Have a great, peaceful, settling rest of the week.

And don't forget to breathe.

:)

Would REALLY love for you to come up and have dinner with us one evening here in Oakland, sit and yak, talk about bikes, etc. Between you missing SCA events, and ME missing SCA events, I never see you anymore!!! Drop me a private message and let's see if we can work out an evening to get together--you need to meet my new beau! He's a riot---and rides!

well, all I can say is that with a list of goals in mind, things can be achieved.

It's not always easy, but it happens. My problem is finding the time for exercise/organization/whatever. But the real problem with me is *making* the time to do those things rather than sitting on my butt on the couch or at the computer. Once I get focused and in a routine, it comes easily though, maybe the same will be for you...

You can do it. You can do amazing things when you set your mind to the task. It helps to prioritize and to set realistic goals.

Hugs

Re: the gopher problem ... Would putting the veggies in raised beds that have barrier screens at the ground level help? If the gopher can dig through the screen, he can't dig into your veggies.

That's how we handle it with my garden. They never did get into it last year and I have my fingers crossed this year. They still really enjoy the lawn, the strawberries, the irises...

come on up,
bring the van and the armor,
lime ridge is a beautiful walk this time of year,
plums are ripe!
the garage is full of art projects and music,
and our little dictator will amuse you.
come on up, anytime
