On walkabout

stolen from my humdrum care
To the city, rainy or fair
Walk the street and eat the chowder,
Go to Ghiradelli for a powder
Down to waterfront, up for pasta
Enough great food that I cried "Basta!"
Went and found a piano bar--
For Friday a lot of fun for providing the car.
Saturday worked on cleaning and stuff
Picked up friends who cried "Enough!"
Off to waltzing we did go,
where I was the man in the know,
Spun and swayed for almost 5 hours--
my feet were blessed by Sufi powers.
Sunday dawned (but not for me)
Rolled out of bed and sleepily
cleaned out the car and to the City ran
picked up 4 friends as was the plan.
Off to Napa we did slink,
And oil, wine and champagne we did drink!
Ended at the C. I. A;
Ate and drank and were merry and gay,
when the last dessert was gnawed,
went to the kitchen to them applaud
too late, too full for the run home--
Traded a couch for my chariot of chrome.
Today we went from Opus to Ag Oak,
(after in the hot tub we did soak)
Lunch was burritos from the carnicera,
As we searched for Port with terrior.
We found it at the final place,
tasted four and bought a case.
Then one companion went to a bus,
and I was lost and started to cuss!
From Napa to Nice shouldn't be that far;
well, if you've got a map in the car--
we asked directions in mist and rain,
missed the turn and were lost again.
The one hour trip became a three hour tour;
But we know what we're doing now for sure!
(Ha)
In the morning we'll muster and drive
Make it to Eugene (but looong after five)
The cry of Adventure! is in the air;
we'll have fun just getting there;
I'll be gone untill Freya's day,
hope you all get out and play!
Goatface, tell Cath that Jeannie sez hi!
Everyone else tell him he's a cute guy.
F_em, got your note of newt,
Keep teaching PsyFrog driving, that's a hoot!
Gnight!
