Safe and soggy in Eugene

Liking it so far. Meets the three basic criteria:

1. Coffee easily available.
2. Broadband easy to find.
3. Farm food easy.

...and now we go to look at houses.

"It's all so ....... green!"

One of my good friends is a bookseller in Eugene; she's active in the local SCA as well. I don't know her SCA name, but if you run into AmyCat Carpenter, tell her hi for me.

Are you really moving to Eugene, or just helping someone out? 'Cause you would be a GREAT addition to An Tir...

Tritto...

Eugene has much to recommend it.

It dawns on me that you are talking like you plan to stay up there. It would be so much our loss! I hope it's just a visit and helping your dad to get settled!

Not yet;

I'll clue you in over coffeecake sometime soon. Househunting for a friend!

Well, that's a relief! We'd miss you here.

Eugene is awesome! I went to a Dead concert there back in my mispent youth...or at least I seem to vaguely recall that I did?

Oh fun! Eugene is where I will be by tomorrow night! Luv Oregon, beautiful, rains too much for me to live there tho. If you can handle the grey ten months out of the year, it's a fabulous deal!

Prepare to be cozy.

Buckets o' rain coming. But a very nice day today!

ah yes, will prepare, thanks! well at least Oregon is being honest with me. Sometimes it tries to trick me into staying with warmer than usual weather :-p

The town of my birth! Love it there.

Good beer too.

Is there something going on here that I should know about?

Huh?

[identity profile] learnteach.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
We haven't met, you know. I'm on a roadtrip with Jeannie Warner (Baroness Genvieve Duran, OWS, Captain of the Tygershark, Etc) to help her find a house. And it's really, really nice here...even the bad cheap neighborhoods are nice. So your name has come up (with positive report) and she will be moving out here, but as for me...I dunno.

Re: Huh?

[identity profile] cathyn.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
As I ponder this, I recall chatting with Jeannie a while ago, and in my vague and faulty memory I seem to believe she mentioned she might be moving to Oregon to be with a guy. Having heard nothing but good things about you, I think I was maybe being hopeful that someone I like so much as her had found someone like you, who so many of my friends like and respect, while totally confessing I am completely out of the loop on such information.

My apologies if this is an inappropriate set of thoughts. I certainly meant no offense. :)

Ah, I wish...I'd do it in a second, but we fit too well as family, not enough as lovers. Thank you for the wonderful thoughts!

We'll meet on one side of the hills or the other; I'm in awe of your romance skill and want to cross swords with you for the joy of it. Jeannie is moving out here for the change in the weather (or you could ask her.) She already did the move to Oregon with a guy thing...now she's moving here with her Mom.

No, wait: SHHHH!

[identity profile] learnteach.livejournal.com 2007-10-18 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
You should know not to let the SECRET of FARAWAY ROMANCE loose on the internet! You fool, what are you doing? NOOOOOOO!

(Sorry, head is foggy from cold. )

I'm not movin' ANYWHERE for a guy, nosirree! I just want to go there.

Taking my mom - she's had a rough go of it here in Colorado and needs a change. Besides, it's only 8-9 hours from San Fran, which is totally like the commutting distance I used to pull for going weekends in Albuquerque from Denver.

Roar!

Jeannie

My husband lived in Eugene when he was in middle school. I believe his cousins have at least one pub there.
