Good people.

Good town. Good gosh, I'm thinking of getting a place up here, if not to live in at least as an investment. My friend Jeannie is moving up here from Denver, and so she's been looking at houses. Since I'm driving, I'm looking at houses too. It's really nice.

But nothing is certain, or even planned. Haven't seen a place I HAVE to have. But there's BUCKETS of nice places here, and my bet is that that this will become a major retirement destination. If not that, it's a good place to telecommute from, and the quality of life is very good.

So, we'll see. It's certainly nice to light out and have a look all around.

Now, the 10 friends meme:

Rules found elsewhere.

1. I'm lucky to still have you in my life; your support means a lot, and I'm glad we're in the same area again.
2. Glad things are working out for you, but stop harshing the hippies!
3. You're strange and I like you, and I think you like me.
4. We haven't met in person but have numerous friends in common, and your lifestyle and art inspire me. I will keep trying to help.
5. I need to invite you to dinner.
6. I hope it's not a problem that I have had a crush on you.
7. I knew you would go, and that's OK, but I wish I'd listened closer while you were here. You know I loved you, and I know you loved me.
8. I need to call you on the phone more.
9. I'm glad I can stay in contact with you this way.
10. Yay happyness!

If Cafe Roma is still there, you must go and have a blackberry muffin. They are Teh Bomb.

And Track Town Pizza? Also bomby.

Eugene ROCKS!

Mad Baker's Fuzzy Upstairs Neighbor here,

Eugene is a very easy place to live well. So easy that my 12 years there just slipped by. Still, I had the best reason for heading south. Eugene has been a major retirement center since the 1980s. Not on the Arizona/Florida model but blended in with everything else. Look at Washinton Abbey for an example.

While you are there, have a pint of Black Rabbit at the High Street McMennamin's for me.

Duncan can walk to a McMennamin's from his dorm. Too weird.

Ahem. The spelling is: McMenamins. :-)

Hubby & I have been dreaming of retiring to Eugene - I fell in love with it as a teenager.
I dream of opening my own B&B there, and cater to the visiting parents of college students :-)
Hey, let's start our own colony there!

Love Eugene... small and big at the same time. A conundrum of many types.
