The mustard is blooming already, as are the nasturtiums.   The weekend was cold rain and my one trip out put my heart in my throat from wind/rain/visibility on the bike, and now it's balmy breezes.

I love living in California...but I need to speed up to catch up with the weather!

Time to wake up and get moving.   Aieee!

It's spring here also, which means it precipitates slush instead of snow. I've started my flower seeds for this year.

But yet, I keep reminding myself that the icon picture was taken March 11th. Hope Springs, eternally.

I had six inches of snow on my driveway this morning, and no snow plow guy in sight :-S

I am envious!

Kayak?

Do you still have the certificate for a free day of 'yaking? If you do and you want to go 'yaking, drop me a line some time. You're right. The weather is great for getting out of doors!

On the planet where I live, there is no such thing as blooming or flowers. All is white and covered with ice or slush. Occasionally, the ice melts back, revealing brown or gray stuff beneath, but then there is another storm, and the eternal world of white returns. But when there is a sunny day after an ice storm, everything sparkles and glitters, and falling ice makes a constant tinkling sound.

In May, I will move to another planet, which is filled with pink and yellow and purple everywhere, and overwhelms the senses with its rampant senseless enthusiasm.

In June, I will move again to a world of green, such as you Californians cannot even imagine. It is lush and shady and rich, and full of the sounds of small living things, some of which light up in the night, flickering and glowing and spreading enchantment.

In October, I will move again to a world of red and orange and yellow and brown. The sunlight streaming through the leaves will fill the air with glowing honey, and at sunset it will look like the entire world is on fire.

The convertible debate...

Ah California in the...spring? My constant debate is whether to take the top down on the Jeep. Now, I can put it back up, but if I park it at night top down it's currently guaranteed to rain - so none of that. But driving mid-day and BOILING is not ok, especially as I'm not willing to turn on the AC in February. So I unzip the windows and put a hat on, and contemplate taking the top off - but then it looks like rain again.

Sigh

A Little Help?

John! I need your street address, can you email it to me? Thanks.

Why do I need it? Why I have a cunning plan of course.
