Can't upload a picture on the free account, but the ink I wanted is in my skin on my shoulder.   A hummingbird, for the largespirited women in my life who have overcome so much.   Especially for Teresa.

Picture later.

EDIT:  Thanks to Shutt3rg33k, picture is here:

I'll have it as an icon soon.  Soon is now!

Cool! Did it hurt much to get?

Not really.

The process stings a little, and it was sore as if I was bruised there and the skin feels a little tight this morning. Sort of like a sunburn. It's on my shoulder, so not near any bones, and he's a really good tattoo artist (did g0atface's work which you see above). Now I just need to take care of it, wash and bandage and let it heal.

I was relaxed enough to chat about art with the artist, and learned some interesting things about japanese themes, his 25 snakes (mainly boas) and his vacations spearfishing while freediving (the day he got a 100' tuna his friend got a 300' one!)

I'm rather amazed at the level of detail he put in the tattoo--the feather shading and highlighting was done with a very, very deft hand. As I try to do with all artists, I asked for the theme (hummingbird, shoulder, no foliage) and he did the rest.
