Blowing on the Ashes

A number of events recently.
Friday night was the memorial (second) for Kristi. It was very nice. Music was played, stories were told, and I got more of a sense of what Kristi meant to other people, and more of a sense of other people in general. As well as being able to pass on stories of her...outside of George, her husband, I knew more of her groups. And she had a lot, from the SCA music and fighting communities to Stanford biolab to dance to Peninsula Symphony. To Bostonians, and brunchers. An amazing woman, sorely missed. One thing that occured in the memorial was that at a certain point, we laid aside our black armbands, laying aside our grief. Perhaps I'll wear a white armband for a while.
Saturday went to Brent's party with Elise; fun to hang out with her, fun to see people at the party. Made some salsa, Elise had a chili bowl that worked well for it. (Shape of a chili). Made Honeydew mango salsa, double jalapeno salsa (not all that hot) and straight up chop salsa. Time to learn more salsa. Left so I could sleep before the fighting.
Fighting has knocked some of the dust loose. I feel much better, and have a sudden surge of energy. I also feel like more fighting, strange, what? THe first rule of SCA fight club is stop telling "No shit, there I was " stories and go fight some more.
Sunday, sunday, sun day...some nice bruises.
Tuesday fought.
ANd soon, Boston.
There's some re-appraisal going on in my life, and some aren't going to like it...ah well.
