San Francisco Snacking?

Hey, guys!  I've got relatives coming into town.  They'll be taking the train to SF on Friday, and checking into a hotel.  Friday they'll see BBB (Beach Blanket Babylon) at the 6:30 show, and Saturday night Teatro Zanzinni.  Where should we go for snacks/light dinner before BBB, and if I take them to the farmer's market in the morning, where should they go before the theater?

Thanks!

for the farmer's market, snack AT the market -- there are multiple rows of prepared food vendors -- one that does hot food along the south side of the building (you'll smell it), and then a section of prepared food vendors that do not-hot things (yogurts, jerky, etc)

We've been eating here since it was Asia Gadrens mublenumber of years ago. Excellent dim sum and a good option for eating as much or little as folks are in the mood for.

I'll check with j_i_m_r when we get home about places near BBB. (Its North Beach after all.)

Particular prepared food vendor I recommend at the Ferry Building Farmers' Market are:

Cap'n Mike's Holy smoke Fish - Open face smoked salmon/sturgeon/albacore sandwiches with very fresh tomatoes. In back.

Roli-roti - Get the porchetta sandwich, authentic style. Not until after 9 AM. On the east side.

Primavera - Very good Mexican Breakfasts and agua fresca. In back.

Mistral - Provencal take-away. Inside, north-side to the west.

As far as Zinzanni goes, dinner comes with the show.

If O'Reilley's is still there, that's good Irish food (and beer) and it's two doors down from BBB. Otherwise, all of North Beach is at hand: Calzone's (love their eqqplant-sausage pizza), Stinking Rose, etc. China Town is also practically next door.
