frack.

Well, shoot. Just removed the front tire, was trying to balance the bike forward to take off the rear, and the bike slipped. Centerstand split, right side folding up, left side bending out. Saved the bike with feet and back (not so much to injure, but some bruises. Thankfully, still pretty strong.) Propped it up.

EDIT: HA! Need better light. Wasn't the center stand; the sidestand is wonky instead, centerstand folded up. Was able to get the bike on a wood pad, and research things. Lesson: Don't let the brakes hang, tie them up. Lesson: Get a jack or table, or pay someone else to do the work. Or ask Tug to help, he's good at this sturf. Lesson: find the dang shop manual.

Down to 1 semi working vehicle. And a lot of adrenaline to go burn off. Too late to savage the pell; will go pull rear tire, stabilize bike in wood cradle, and curse mildly.

Ow. Yep, back not happy, luckily it's high in the shoulders, where I have a lot of muscle.
Frack.

Yea learning experience, right?

Learned: Conduit does not work as breaker bar (bends the conduit.) Waterline makes a great breaker bar, well, at least until the ratchet sheers... (shears?)
anyway, learning. tomorrow, find or if neccesary go buy a 17mm wrench. Time to get clued and organize the tools.

Oh no! That sux! The centerstand split? I'm having a difficult time imagining that. Frack.

Well, per our previous conversation:

(I really love the white color)

I'm so sorry about your bike! ):

Ooh. I didn't see the part about breaker bars. I once used the tubing from a steal fence as a breaker bar and that worked pretty well. Believe it or not, the Kawi has a bolt that needs to be tightened to 95 lbs/feet and if you don't have your bike in gear, it's damned near impossible to get off. I guess we all end up with wrenching learning experiences when we try to do it ourselves...

I think I meant foot/lbs. (:

Drop by the shop tomorrow. Borrow the actual breaker bar and whatever wrenches you need. We can help. :)

Call first to find out if we're at home or shop!

Will call.

AND steal yer icon. I should be OK for tools, I only need the wrench. And I already ambushed Dusty at RoadRider (he was so not ready) while there buying the tires.

Just glad I didn't fail this spectacularly in the parking lot!

WELL ALRIGHTY THEN!!!

Does the actual BMW motorcycle mechanic have to come over there and help?!?!!
*smiles*

Now I know why you called but didn't leave a messege.

And, FWIW, I have access to my tools even though the shop is closed. AND that is not far from your place.

Glad to know you were not injured when you caught the bike.
Been there, done that.
Got the scars to prove it.
