Most of the years, this is a tough time for me. Too much to do, too many disappointments, not enough sun, end of the year, family things...

This year? Due to an amazing concatenation of events, I'm full of the holiday spirit. What's done it?

Telling a story about how I was lucky to be able to pass some giving spirit along has generated other offers of passing luck and things along.

The Messiah Sing, followed by Dicken's Faire, where I waltzed (hoped I was healed enough, I was) followed by the Hallelujah chorus followed by meeting friends of an absent friend. Who have an amazingly appropriate painting.

Singing in the choir. Friends coming to stay. Meshugga Beach Party! Durer and Brueghel and Goldsworthy.

And getting a good referral. Greg Barsten, DC (etc) of www.healthquestlosgatos.com reduced and realigned the hand fracture today, and in checking my shoulder found a subscapular adhesion, which after he massaged released and gave me 2" more range of motion going over the back. I can't remember when I've had this much freedom of motion. I have to highly, highly recommend him and his practice, also because I heard the receptionist/staffer turn away someone who wanted to make an appointment while feverish. "Go to the clinic, get cultured, get the right antibiotics or cold medicines, then come see us when you're not contagious!"

(EDIT ADDED:) Having one of the students who I thought was lost contact me and is doing much better. Yay!
It's been a long, tough year (with high points and low points and a lot of grind) and this season, I think is waking me up.

Great Icon, btw. So, when can I lure you over to Rabbit's Foot in Sunnyvale for a Tasting? I've got the keys, but we're open 2-6 T-F anyway. I want to get you and Tug squiffy on cyser!

Just so's you know, I'm dying to join you guys there. But it pains me to say that I might have to wait until after the holidays. Packing house today, making a mad 8-hour run out of town tonight for some familyfied festivities, returning in four days to load house into truck, drive to new house, put old house into new house, return to load workshop, put workshop into new workshop...and perhaps eventually take a moment's rest before catching up on all the work we've been missing

How's your early January look for squiffication?

Difficult!

I'm going away for the second week, we'll have to look a little deeper into the year. Unless I can grab you on Jan 2. That might be fun!

Penciled!

I'm putting it on my calendar...but I'll have to wait on the pen until after the big move on the 29th. Will that give you enough lead time?

Excellent! Don't need lead time, just need a hole in the schedule. I can run a tasting in under 5 minutes notice, but I'd like to introduce the owner/brewer. You guys would all get along... Shall we target just after lunch time?

Huzza!

(or however that's spelled)

I'm quite pleased you have found your holiday spirit! I did look for you at Dicken's Faire, but did not find you, unfortunately. I am glad to hear that you were there and that you were having a grand time.

Have a very Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!

Thought of you tonight as I was at a Christmas Eve service. The service itself was terrible, most like a recycled Easter message. But I really got going on a poem for Sheepshank, would have loved to pass the little moleskin book back and forth and giggle in between carols.

Thought of you

We had a good music night. The sermon was sublime, with a Sting version of "Gabriel" sung by Father Matt and his only begotten son. Tympani, fluglehorn, and being invited back to sing more...plus NAILING the bass line on Bethlehem Down.

Santa just blew through and the temperature went up 20 degrees--it's balmy out there.

Hooray for range of motion, lessening of pain (both emotional and physical), and holiday singing and dancing! I hope you had the merriest Christmas ever!
