Oakdale Cheese is good!

If you pass through Oakdale (up towards the Sierra) for any reason, you pass the Oakdale Cheese Company. They have a storefront there with animals in the back and a picnic area, and a fruit stand (which isn't that good). But the CHEESE, Grommit, the CHEESE is excellent!

Was just having a nosh of garlic gouda (gouda is the only cheese they make there, and they do it very well) and I discovered that their cheese is sticky. It pulled the temporary crown on my tooth right off! Since cheese is not supposed to be hard, I was able to figure that out quickly.

But really, best gouda ever.

A temporary crown is such a pain.

But I'll have to remember this source for good-a cheese when I'm next out that way!

They make a great german-style cheesecake and a really good Apfel Kaffeekuchen.

The cheese curds are yummy. The jalepeno gouda rocks :-)

Yes, they are our local cheese place..
