Radio Silence? Nope, just Lent. And a new roommate.

So not much posting here and I've been asked: Am I deeply depressed? Has my man-pout taken over my world completely? What is up?

Human contact. For Lent, I gave up computer time--any time I spend on the computer in a day, I also have to spend sweating. This has cut waaaaay down on the time online possible, and much of it is spent getting things done. As well, Jeannie has moved in, and her brilliance and decorating coolness has illuminated how much of a pit the rest of the house has gotten. She painted the room walls a warm yet neutral butternut color, we put in a new lamp and some found art, and decorated the space.

All the on-hold cleaning and remaking projects are now Rocket Go, Go GO!. So anyway. Lots of cleaning and fixing and sorting.

Also got to see Steve Wozniak on "Dancing with the Stars". Wow, he's playing the nerd. I've been really enjoying Friday Night Waltz, even got to teach last week. Big Fun! I need to learn more, luckily Richard Powers is teaching starting next Tuesday for two months, at socialdance.stanford.edu, so off I go. As well, I've been enjoying the 5 Rhythms (or at Kairyth sez, "Dance Church") on Mondays in Mountain View.

Two more weeks of Lent, then Easter, then...well, I'll probably not be on here completely. But that's OK, things to do.

Oh, and in the "The Universe Laughs At You, and your little plans in toto too!" I have a chance at a science/technology teaching job uniquely suited to my skills and experience. The kicker? School is in Oakland. But...I could teach and work on getting my cert at the same time, working with my favorite teacher ever.

I stole it from you, oh Siren of the Sausage! And even more amusing is how much Venice is showing up in my life. Went to a music recital, not knowing it was 16th century Venitian music. Investigated the first "paperbacks" (books meant to be read outside a library or church)--Venetian, AND they invented the italic script so that it would be prettier and smaller type and easier to read than that German Gothic stuff. Amazing!
