Lack of leads?

No more sympathy. 3 extra leads first class, eight in the second. It bring a beginner's class, I've been hit 3 times and spiked twice.

if it was extra follows and being kicked instead of spiked I'd say swing dance :)

I follow. *grin* Well, okay, I am *nominally* a follower, but I actually have to have a strong lead or I sort of take over. Not at ALL like topping from the bottom, though.

I do a similar thing and have to watch it. It is hard, though, when the lead loses the beat, or doesn't get turned all the way 360 with each rotation. The follow needs to step forward on the 1 count, and cannot do so unless they both make it all the way around. One fellow gave me a stern, "*I'll* lead", to which I was rather stunned and haven't danced with him since. Now, of course, I have the comeback, "I'm not trying to lead, I'm trying to help you get back on the beat." That's if he's snide. If someone nice gets off beat, I now just start softly saying 1,2,3, 4,5,6.

Sorry to miss class last night, but my shins *still* hurt from that polka-mazurka-hopping-pivoting class last Friday. I would have learned more had Geoffrey M. danced with me for five minutes.

I get kicked in the shins at FNW once in a while, and several times at the PEERS ball where the floor was so crowded and everyone was trying to dance to the too-fast music.

I don't know what you mean about sympathy, though. The classes usually have extra leads, and the dances usually have extra follows.

How are your knees?
