Injury healing apace, no exact prognosis of "done". To clarify, I'm actually fully functional--I can walk, run, dance, no pain, no worries, but that's not the Doctor's orders. I can drive my car and climb into the way high up van. I can be in polite company.

The required wound care regimen is easy, and mainly consists of getting the leg up. If I don't do it, after about 8 hours the wound will hurt a little bit, and I'll be cranky, especially because I know I'm not healing.

The really cranky thing is dealing with filing the paperwork; I'm getting conflicting answers, people who won't accept or return calls, and while the same department is responsible for patient billing and charity applications, the energy is devoted one way.

There's a TMI post about wetpacking, but you can figure that out yourself. Also, I need to avoid tempting activities in the heat, because that will promote leaking. Eww.

So, plan for now: FOLLOW Doctor's Orders. Leg up, hot pack, wound care.

Cheers to you for being a good patient! I know that can be really hard, especially when you feel okay to do the things you ought not.

Do you *know* any polite company? ;-)

Continue to take care of your self, and heal quickly! Those are MY orders!

The hardest part comes when you feel pretty good and are tempted to do a little too much. PLEASE do no succumb to the temptation and mess up the healing. Be a good boy and keep that let elevated and resist temptation.

I speak from experience here. Believe me.

Good for you for making the choice to follow orders and let this heal! This has caused you more than enough problems for one lifetime, the extra patience now to let your body do a complete recovery is so worth it!

You, sir, have terrified me. In a good way.

Backpacking last weekend got a bug bite that kept getting bigger with each successive day. Add swelling, dizziness, nausea and redness traveling up my arm to having read your recent posts, and I hurried myself to urgent care rather quickly.

Glad you are recovering. Hope to see you at FNW again in the near future.

I'd help with the healing if I could, but you seem to be taking care of that. Good news, and be not weary in well doing! Paperwork and calls are my meat, though, so if I can help, let me know.

Keep up that good work!

Can we hire you? I need someone to spend a few hours chasing AT&T and various other idiotic companies about bills. Both hubby & I suck at this mightily. We would love to hire someone whose frustration meter is differently calibrated.

Unfortunately, my frustratometer is factory standard. Insurance is my career and medical claims are my vocation, or I would be happy to help.

I have yet to meet a skilled and patient wrangler of AT&T and will consider such to be legendary or extinct until I have seen a breeding pair. Good luck!
